Melai defends Jason: Kami lang ang bisyo ng asawa ko

MANILA - Comedienne Melai Cantiveros took to social media on Friday to defend her husband, actor Jason Francisco, who recently confirmed that they have separated after three years of marriage.

On Instagram, Cantiveros described Francisco as "ang pinakabest na asawa sa lahat."

"Walang bisyo, 'di umiinom, 'di nagyoyosi. Kami lang ang bisyo ng asawa ko," she said. "Good provider lang 'yan at kami lang inuuna niyan kahit kanino man. Kaya ganun-ganun na lang niya kami kamahal. Ramdam na ramdam namin ni Mela (their daughter) 'yun."

"Overprotective siya sa amin sa lahat ng bagay. Sa mga mag-aasawa, pagdadaanan talaga ang mga pagsubok, at ang pagsubok ay unlimited."

Cantiveros then asked bashers to respect Francisco and their marriage.

"Kaya nga sa mga nagba-bash sa asawa ko, kung may respeto kayo sa relasyon namin, sa akin, sana ay tigilan niyo na at kami lang din magkakaayos," she said.

She continued: "Kung wala man kayong magandang sasabihin, 'wag na lang kayong pumindot at manakit. Hindi niyo kilala ang asawa ko at 'di niyo alam kung saan siya nanggagaling."

The comedienne admitted that she feels hurt whenever she sees negative comments about her husband.

"Doble at triple pa ang sakit na nararamdaman ko. Mas sobra pa kay Mela kung mababasa niya ang comment niyo," she said. "May mga mali at tama, but time will heal all wounds."

In the end, Cantiveros stressed that she and Francisco are not fighting so fans don't have to take sides.

"Walang kampihan at 'di kailangan ng kampihan kung sino rito kasi hindi naman kami magkaaway. Mag-asawa po kami," she said.

On Friday's episode of her show, "Magandang Buhay," Cantiveros broke down as she expressed her love for Francisco.
