Screenshot/Hidalgo Portraits</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA — Gerald Anderson said he had to Google the meaning of “ghosting,” when the term became a top trend on social media following Bea Alonzo’s revelation that he had not accorded her a formal breakup, and that he “just started not talking to me.”</p><p>The 30-year-old actor finally broke his silence on Monday, more than two weeks since Alonzo’s controversial Instagram post hinting at infidelity in her relationship.</p><p>Speaking with ABS-CBN News’ Ganiel Krishnan, Anderson did not directly answer whether he did “ghost,” or ended the relationship by completely cutting communication with, Alonzo.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OnbTPrsEmHg?enablejsapi=1" width="560"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>He revealed, however, that they had been having a succession of arguments that ultimately led to “one big fight,” where there came the realization that the relationship was no longer healthy, and that “we were just hurting each other.”</p><p>“Umabot sa point na ayawan na talaga,” he said.</p><p>According to Anderson, that fight happened one month ago — or about two weeks before Alonzo wrote about having had “enough” and visibly liked Instagram posts alleging an affair between Anderson and Julia Barretto, his co-star in the romance film “Between Maybes.”</p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Nx2NrCNhsHM?enablejsapi=1" width="560"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>Anderson, in his interview, stressed that “no one else was the reason” behind his separation from Alonzo, citing instead “personal issues” and “things inside our relationship.”</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/08/06/19/julia-barretto-tells-bea-alonzo-i-refuse-to-be-your-victim">Julia Barretto tells Bea Alonzo: ‘I refuse to be your victim’</a></li></ul><p>“Kahit naging ganito ‘yung ending namin, it doesn’t define what we had,” he said of his three-year relationship with Alonzo. “I will never forget ‘yung mga good moments namin na we had together. Moving forward,” Anderson said. “I just hope and pray that everybody respects… You guys had fun na, you guys had your fun with it. Huwag niyo kalimutan na kahit celebrities kami, tao pa rin kami, and we share the same emotions you guys have.</p><p>“It hasn’t been easy sa kahit anong party, the people involved. Please, kaunting respeto lang,” he said.</p>
