A rule prohibits “It’s Showtime” hosts from falling in love with each other, according to two of its mainstays, Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis.

The topic was brought up Friday during the show’s live telecast, when Vice Ganda and co-host Jhong Hilario had a playful exchange about their past “romance.”

At that point, Curtis quipped that “It’s Showtime” director Bobet Vidanes, who was standing near the stage, would not get in between Vice Ganda and Hilario this time around.

Catching sight of a laughing Vidanes, Vice Ganda joked, “Pag kay Kabayo, harang, pero ‘yung Billy-Coleen, pinayagan!”

The comedian was referring to Billy Crawford, their co-host who is currently on hiatus, and Coleen Garcia, also a former mainstay of the program. The two got married in April this year.

“Iyong dalawa, kinasal pa!” Vice Ganda added, in jest.

Explaining Vice Ganda’s “hugot” involving Hilario, Curtis said, “May rule kasi tayo, ‘di ba — bawal magka-in-love-an ang mga hosts.”

Vice Ganda has made no secret of having developed romantic feelings for Hilario in the past. In 2013, the “Fantastika” star admitted that he fell in love with Hilario, but that they were prohibited from having a relationship.

Hilario also confirmed this, as he faced Vice Ganda in a 2017 interview on the comedian’s talk show “Gandang Gabi Vice.”
