MANILA – Movie and television director Antoinette Jadaone said she didn’t have a hard time directing James Reid and Nadine Lustre for the second time on “Till I Met You” (TIMY) citing the two’s natural chemistry.

Speaking at the show’s grand press conference last Sunday, Jadaone said Reid and Lustre’s real-life relationship even made the job easier.

“Kapag ang actors may chemistry, konti na lang ang itu-tweak mo sa kanila. Ang pinaglalaruan namin dito, pare-parehas kaming excited kasi bagong characters,” she said.

Jadaone said their main focus while working on "TIMY" is how Reid and Lustre will differentiate their portrayal of their new characters from how they played Clark and Leah respectively on “On the Wings of Love” (OTWOL).

“Nag-start kami from step one na kilalanin 'yung characters kung paano maglakad, paano magsalita, paano kumain. Binubuo pa lang namin 'yung characters, pare-pareho kaming kinikilig,” she said.

Although TIMY tackles more serious themes than OTWOL, Jadaone said the creative team was able to preserve its light romantic-comedy flavor, which will surely endear viewers to the new series.

“Definitely, if you love OTWOL, you will definitely love TIMY because the same flavor is there. Mas dinagdagan pa namin ng ibang stories of family and friendship,” she said.

Also starring JC Santos, Carmina Villarroel, Angel Aquino, Pokwang and Zoren Legaspi, “Till I Met You” debuted on ABS-CBN on Monday.

Its pilot episode set Twitter on fire with over 1.5 million Tweets on Monday night. To compare, OTWOL generated 1.4 million Tweets in its pilot episode.

The hashtag #TIMYLoveBegins also topped worldwide trends, as it drew support from JaDine fans who waited for the much-awaited comeback of Reid and Lustre.

“Till I Met You” airs every weeknights after “Ang Probinsyano."
