<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/entertainment/09/25/20190925-tawag.jpg?ext=.jpg"/><figcaption>Tawag ng Tanghalan judge Zsa Zsa Padilla and vocal coach Lindie Achacoso are moved to tears after the performance of finalist John Michael dela Cerna. <em>ABS-CBN/It’s Showtime</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA — Emotions ran high Wednesday on Tawag ng Tanghalan over a finalist’s soaring rendition of “Imagine,” just hours after he had nearly lost his voice.</p><p>John Michael dela Cerna, one of the eight contenders vying for the four remaining slots in the September 28 finale, chose the iconic tune from The Beatles as his “fight song.”</p><p>The Mindanao bet’s stirring version had all five judges on their feet, including Zsa Zsa Padilla, who said, “Nanginginig ako!”</p><p>“You are so amazing,” the music veteran told dela Cerna. “Iba talaga ‘yung dating mo, nanginig ako talaga. Hindi ko na na-experience ‘yun in a long time, na sobra akong na-move, na talagang ‘yung buong pagkatao ko, na-shake to the very core.”</p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/6BZzndrKnl4?enablejsapi=1" width="560"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>The triumph was especially sweet for dela Cerna, who had been apprehensive about his turn on stage due to the condition of his voice.</p><p>Lindie Achacoso, one of the vocal coaches, was similarly moved, host Vice Ganda noticed. The comedian asked Achacoso why that was the case.</p><p>Achacoso shared that the night prior, a concerned dela Cerna called her. “Wala talaga siyang boses, so naghiling kung puwedeng ibaba. Pero he did more than that, so we’re very proud of him.”</p><p>A crying Achacoso said of all the finalists: “Parang anak ko silang lahat.”</p><p>By the end of the Wednesday episode of Tawag ng Tanghalan, a third finalist was eliminated, settling as the overall 10th placer: Jermaine Apil of Luzon.</p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/TNTABSCBN/photos/a.1512416849077747/2410619465924143" data-width="auto"> </div><p>Dela Cerna, having garnered the highest combined scores from judges and public votes, meanwhile secured a slot in the finale, joining Elaine Duran and Kim Nemenzo.</p><p>Three more slots in the finale will be filled by Friday.</p>
