MANILA – A sweet photo of Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto that made the rounds online two months ago reminded several netizens of the tandem of her aunt, Claudine, and the late Rico Yan.

Many Internet users noticed the striking similarities between the two love teams, with some even saying they actually see Yan and Claudine in Garcia and Julia.

Despite this common observation, Claudine herself maintained she does not want her niece to be tagged as her successor.

“Ako, ayaw ko talaga. Ayaw ko na sila 'yung next,” Claudine told ABS-CBN News during the recently concluded Star Magic Ball.

“Bilang pamangkin ko, I want na higitan pa niya 'yun sana. Given the right projects lang, she’s doing very well. Magaling siyang umarte. Naniniwala ako na kaya niya. Kaya nila,” she added.

Claudine said she wants Julia and Garcia to have their own identity and not be identified with any other love team.

Garcia and Julia are the lead stars of the Star Cinema movie “Love You to the Stars and Back.” They are also slated to star in their own television series soon.
