Rumored but never confirmed to be a couple over the years, Shaina Magdayao and Piolo Pascual are the subject of fresh speculation as the two exchanged sweet gestures at the recent ABS-CBN Ball.

Three days after the charity event, Magdayo shared a photo of a bouquet of roses on Instagram, tagging Pascual’s account in the photo, apparently meaning it was a gift from the actor.

In its caption, Magdayao addressed close friends in the industry, and thanked them for “choosing to stay.” While she did not mention Pascual’s name, she singled out an individual, “my perennial,” in the same post where Pascual was tagged.

She wrote: “Heart is full of gratitude to be blessed with genuine friends around me especially during showbiz events like the ball. These souls who make such evenings more beautiful and meaningful. Also, for choosing to re-align with wherever I’m at now in my life, and for choosing to stay...

“Grateful for all of your presence. #mostesptoyoumyperennial Guess you’re really #myconstant as well. To genuine friendships beyond showbiz world.”

In February 2017, Pascual described the nature of his relationship with Magdayao as “exclusively dating.”

Magdayao, however, reacted days later by saying it was “too early” to label their relationship, and that they were free to date other people.

In March 2018, Pascual said his relationship with Magdayao was “close to six years,” but did not specify whether he meant they were a couple in romance. Three months later in June, he then clarified they were “not dating.”

At the ABS-CBN Ball last Saturday, both walked the red carpet solo, prompting fans to speculate they have indeed parted ways. However, going by Magdayao’s post days later, it seems the two remain on good terms.
