Rez Cortez, FPJ's sidekick, joins 'Ang Probinsyano'

MANILA -- Veteran actor Rez Cortez, who did several films with the late Fernando Poe Jr., joined the cast of the 2015 remake of the action king's hit movie "Ang Probinsyano."

Cortez debuted on the series Friday night. He will be playing General Jacob, one of the newest protectors of the biggest drug syndicate in the series.

The 60-year-old actor currently chairs the Actors Guild of the Philippines. In 2013, he ran unsuccessfully as representative of the fifth district of Camarines Sur.
