Tony Labrusca and Angel Aquino share a laugh as they shoot a scene for 'Glorious.' Dreamscape Digital

Inside the first few seconds of the trailer for "Glorious," Tony Labrusca and Angel Aquino exchange a lusty, wild kiss.

It's a refreshing sight, not just because it's a movie about older women in relationships, but because it also sees its lead stars simply go for it --a contrast to most mainstream actors who tend to be self-conscious and coy in bedroom scenes.

The trailer has garnered 11 million views, and Labrusca sees the enthusiastic response as an opportunity to show Filipinos that there's nothing wrong with having such passionate, intimate moments, downplaying them as "normal."

"Feeling ko lahat ng Filipino [are] actually malibog so normal 'yun," he said of his much-talked about scene with Aquino. "I don't think it's intense, I think it's normal. Everybody does that."

He also explained with Push that having sex or kissing is just an instinctive way of communing with other people: "Mahilig talaga ang mga tao. Like that's how we're made unless asexual ka."

In "Glorious," Labrusca plays the lover of a much older woman portrayed by Aquino. It tackles the common misconceptions about such relationships, mainly that it is rarely a genuine one.

Labrusca wants those who plan to see it to listen to what their movie has to say, rather than ogle his and Aquino's topless moments.

"There's a movie where you'll just take your top off to show your boobs but that's just to show your boobs. But what if you're taking off your top because you're about to make love to the person that you love the most in that movie?"

"I want people to stop thinking about just sex, just taking their clothes off, just frontal nudity, just for pasabog. ...I don't think movies should just be about sexiness and nudity. I think it should be about substance," he added.

"Glorious" is scheduled for an online release this November 17 through iWant.
