<p>MANILA — Kris Aquino said she has come to terms with her current stature as a celebrity, as she responded early this week to a follower who urged her to come up with a “pasabog,” or an issue, so Aquino. It reads, in part: “I hope you can still gain your former status as the country’s premiere endorser. It seems like you are slowly fading into the shadow of irrelevance. Don’t get me wrong. Magpasabog ka ulit.”</p><p>Replying directly to the comment, Aquino said she is “pretty chill about becoming ‘irrelevant’ because the price to pay fighting to stay relevant wasn’t worth my health or my peace of mind.”</p><p>The past year has been a tumultuous one for Aquino, who revealed to be battling a “form of lupus,” on top of her legal feud with her former business manager Nicko Falcis which has since been settled.</p><p>In recent months, Aquino confirmed not being renewed for a major endorsement deal amid the controversy, and losing a film project which would have been her screen comeback — via the high-profile Metro Manila Film Festival no less — due to conflicts in schedule and subsequent technicalities.</p><p>“So many have told me, ‘You have enough’ (in the material sense), and my sons are in no danger of going hungry. So I was working hard because I was protecting something that now seems much less important: my ego,” she said.</p><p>Aquino is a single mother to Joshua, 24, and Bimby, 12.</p><p>Aquino, who is known for her frankness and whose life has been an open book, has been named on numerous occasions a top influencial brand endorser, with dozens of multimedia deals.</p><p>“I worked too many days when I should’ve actually been listening to my body all because of the mistaken notion that protecting work commitments meant more than prioritizing my wellness,” she said.</p><p>“Sorry, walang ‘pasabog’ coming soon — I have outgrown that,” she added. “It took so much prayer for me to be at peace with who I am and where I am.”</p><p>Aquino also doubted the follower’s intentions in expressing concern over her being less visible in showbiz, writing: “I realized you wanted to upset me but graduate na ako sa ganitong klaseng pailalim na ‘bullying.’ I hope before you ‘worry’ about my professional standing, you’ll ask yourself why there seems to be little of interest in your life that you’re making mine your problem?”</p>
