Internationally, Canadian rapper and singer Drake was the most streamed artist of 2018 with 8.2 billion streams this year, Spotify said in a statement.

Post Malone, XXXTENTACION, J Balvin, and Ed Sheeran, who held the top spot last year, rounded out the Top 5.

Drake's "God's Plan" was the most streamed track. His song "In My Feelings", which triggered a dance craze across the globe, is also in the top 5 list.

"SAD!" by rapper XXXTENTACION came in second, followed respectively by Post Malone hits "rockstar (feat. 21 Savage)" and "Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)."

Hip-hop continued to dominate Spotify’s charts in 2018, but last year’s surge in Latin music continued its growth. Apart from that, EMO Rap and Lo-Fi Beats were two genres that grew the most in 2018.

The streaming service on Thursday will make available its "Wrapped" microsite where subscribers can find their personal favorites and top-streamed tracks.
