<p>MANILA -- For Emmy-nominated Japanese actor Takehiro Hira, the unique story showcasing father&#x27;s love is the reason he decided to do the drama-thriller movie &quot;Crosspoint&quot; with Filipino actor Carlo Aquino.</p><p>&quot;When I first read the script I thought it was very unique. It&#x27;s a thriller but it&#x27;s really a story of love. For me, father&#x27;s love to a daughter. And I have a daughter. ... So you know a lot of what&#x27;s in the script resonated with me. So I was really happy to be part of it,&quot; Hira told ABS-CBN News in an online interview.</p><p>&quot;Crosspoint&quot; is drama-thriller film about a washed-up actor Manuel (Aquino) who goes to Japan and meets Shigeru (Hira), a bankrupt businessman and father to<a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/2024/9/16/here-s-why-crosspoint-is-special-to-kei-kurosawa-1327" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> Mayuko (Kei Kurosawa)</a>. Manuel and Shigeru decide to catch a fugitive to get the reward money in order to solve their problems. </p><p>The film is written and directed by Japan-based Filipino filmmaker Donie Ordiales.</p><script data-wid="auto" type="text/javascript" src="https://content.viralize.tv/display/?zid=AAEyze-tm4MR6kEa&amp;cid=ABOM208qEQHSS1OM&amp;activation=adfill&amp;vip_mode=no"></script><p>Hira, who showed his versatility as an actor taking on various roles both TV and film, said that the movie&#x27;s theme shows how someone makes sacrifices for their loved ones.</p><p>&quot;This &#x27;Crosspoint&#x27; the theme in the movie is like that -- give more than your life, give more than you can give or the best that you can get to your loved ones.&quot;</p><p>In the interview, Takehiro also said he enjoyed being part of the creative process of the movie and his experience working with Filipino actors and director.</p><p>He was all smiles when sharing his experience working with Aquino, whom he described as an excellent actor.</p><p>&quot;Obviously very talented actor. He was really gentle, subtle with his expression and I just love working with him,&quot; said Hira, who said he would love to work with Aquino again if given a chance.</p><p>Hira also shared his thoughts being directed by Filipino filmmaker Ordiales: &quot;Donie spent a lot of time and energy, passion into this project. We&#x27;re talking about the script, how we&#x27;re gonna have the scene and all the discussions. He&#x27;s fantastic, very talented. Like I haven&#x27;t work in Japan for like almost six, seven years. So it was really like refreshing, even the cold and the bento.
