MANILA – Kapamilya singer-actor and former Now United member Bailey May is back in the Philippine music scene with the release of his latest single “Come Closer” on Friday, October 18.

Composed by May and produced by ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo, “Come Closer” is now available on all digital streaming platforms.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, May revealed that he made the song three years ago in Abu Dhabi where he imagined being in a club while making eye contact with someone he’s attracted to.

“I tried to put that vibe to a song and that’s why I came with ‘Come Closer’ and the melodies to that song,” he said.

The song, according to May, has a dancehall and reggaeton influence to it, genres he can relate to the most for years now.

“It’s been a dream come true to release a song with that vibe because that’s where I wanna pursue when it comes to the sound of my music,” he said.

May also mentioned his excitement about returning to the country where his career first started and flourished.

“It feels amazing to be back here in the Philippines, especially doing music because that’s what I love. I’m proud to come from the Philippines and everything I’ve done here so far I’d like to say is the beginning of my journey. So I’m very excited to see where it goes,” May said.

In 2015, May became a housemate in the reality show "Pinoy Big Brother: 737."

He later joined the global pop group Now United in 2017 but decided to leave and pursue his solo career last year.
