"Trigger" also includes "Bite Back," which the group has been performing in its "Zeneration II" tour concerts, which made a stop in Manila last August.

Notably, "Trigger" comes following reports that the group is preparing to leave label IST Entertainment once their exclusive seven-year contracts expire in December. IST reportedly responded by stating that discussions regarding the members' contracts are still ongoing.

THE BOYZ debuted in December 2017 with the single "Boy" and have since achieved greater recognition after winning the competition program "Road to Kingdom" in 2020. They continued to build on their success by competing in its sequel "Kingdom: Legendary War" in 2021.
