Nagagamit ko naman yung platform ko eh. May mga kaibigan ako in politics, I know it’s very hard, napakahirap nun, and I wouldn’t jump into something na hindi ako handa or hindi ko pinag-aralan because people’s lives are at stake,” Anderson said.</p><p>The actor has been actively involved in disaster relief efforts since typhoon Ondoy in 2009. Most recently, his quick action in aiding communities affected by <span id="isPasted" style="color:rgb(65, 65, 65);letter-spacing:normal;orphans:2;text-align:left;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;display:inline !important;float:none">typhoon</span> Carina garnered widespread praise on social media. </p><p>Anderson, who also serves as an auxiliary commander with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), was awarded the PCG Auxiliary Search and <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/2024/8/8/pcg-recognizes-gerald-anderson-for-carina-rescue-efforts-1902">Rescue Medal and Ribbon</a> for his dedication to humanitarian causes.</p><p>Despite being encouraged by some to explore politics, Anderson said he was focused on his current projects, including his basketball league, “Got Game 3x3.” </p><p>“I’m happy. Yung mga teams na sumali, quality.
