Did Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards file their certificates of candidacy (COC) for an elected position? This was the playful question of fans on Tuesday, as photos of their promotional event resembling those of COC filers made the rounds on social media.

Donning white with a white background inside a tent, Bernardo and Richards posed for pictures shortly after the trailer launch of their reunion movie "Hello, Love, Again" at a mall in Taguig.

Not a few noted the visual similarities with another high-profile event, the then-ongoing final day of COC filing for the 2025 midterm elections.

At first glance, fans joked, Bernardo and Richards appeared to have just filed their own candidacies, to become the latest showbiz personalities to aim for a government seat.

Like most election aspirants, the screen couple wore matching white polos, only in their case, the outfits were personalized with texts of their movie title and their characters' names.

Slated for a theatrical release on November 13, "Hello, Love, Again" is a follow-up to the box-office juggernaut "Hello, Love, Goodbye" and is also helmed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana.

The sequel follows Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Richards) as they reunite in Canada, after the Hong Kong-set love story seen in the 2019 original.
