"Exhuma," the South Korean mystery thriller film with a stellar cast led by acclaimed actor Choi Min-sik, is heading to Philippine cinemas in March.

In a press release, distributor Columbia Pictures said "Exhuma" would start screening in local theaters beginning March 20.

The film begins with a wealthy family seeking the help of a shaman duo after they suffer from a series of paranormal events.

The job leads the shaman duo, joined by a top-notch geomancer and mortician, to carry out an exhumation at a grave in a remote South Korean village

Unbeknown to the crew, the exhumation inadvertently unleashes "a malevolent force buried underneath."

Choi, best known for starring in the 2003 action-thriller film "Oldboy," takes on the role of geomancer Sang-deok.

Meanwhile, Kim Go-eun (of "Goblin") and Lee Do-hyun ("Sweet Home" and "The Glory") portray the young and talented shamans Hwa-rim and Bong-gil, respectively.

Yoo Hae-jin ("Space Sweepers") completes the main cast as the mortician Yeong-geun.

The film is directed by Jang Jae-hyun, who also helmed other mystery films such as "The Priests" and "Svaha: The Sixth Finger."
