MANILA -- As Bamboo Mañalac, Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta and Nathan Azarcon gear up for the highly-anticipated Rivermaya reunion concert on February 17, Mañalac is definitely feeling nostalgic during rehearsals, which for him is the most enjoyable part of their preparations.

“It is just playing the music again, hearing us sing together, you know what I mean? Just those memories rush back,” he said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Rivermaya released its first album in 1994 and since then has become among the pillars that shaped OPM during that decade. Mañalac bid the band farewell in 1998, while Azarcon left in 2001. The group continued with Blanco as the lead singer until 2007.

Mañalac promised old and new fans alike that they will enjoy the set they prepared for the reunion concert, which he said is a celebration of the triumphs of the local music scene in the last decades.
