Disney+ vowed "quality storytelling and top talent" as it revealed its action-packed roster of South Korean content for 2024.

"The new Korean originals announced really builds on the positive momentum and success of our APAC (Asia-Pacific) content slate last year," Carol Choi, executive vice president of original content strategy at the Walt Disney Company APAC, said in a statement.

"We will continue to scale our creative ambition with a curated collection of APAC originals, centered on quality storytelling and top talent, in collaboration with the region's most exciting storytellers," she added.

Among the newly-announced shows is "Blood Free," in which Ju Ji-hoon (from "Princess Hours" and "Kingdom") plays a former bodyguard who is haunted by past failures.

He ends up being recruited to protect the CEO of a meat company (portrayed by "Moving" star Han Hyo-joo) who is also a survivor of an incident that changed his life.

Another show, "The Unmasked," follows a group of investigative journalists who must solve a 20-year-old cold case involving a missing actor in order to save their jobs. The cast is led by Kim Hye-soo, known for starring in the period drama "Under the Queen's Umbrella."

In "The Tyrant," a United States government agent attempts to recover a deadly virus stolen by South Korea. The series stars Cha Seung-won, Kim Seon-ho and Kim Kang-woo.

The thrilling crime drama "Gangnam B-Side," meanwhile, tells the story of a detective who uncovers a secret of some of Seoul's elite after his daughter's friend goes missing. It features Ji Chang-wook and Jo Woo-jin.

Disney+ also announced the return of the variety show "The Zone: Survival Mission," starring top TV personality Yu Jae-seok and Girls' Generation Yuri.

For the show's third season, the duo will be joined by former UFC fighter Kim Dong-hyun and popular YouTuber Dex as they "try to survive an increasingly complex range of challenges."

Also coming to the streamer is "Uncle Samsik," starring veteran actor Song Kang-ho and Byun Yo-han, about an idealistic politician and mysterious political fixer who "form an uneasy partnership with the goal of transforming a struggling post-war Korea into a prosperous country."

Viewers can also anticipate "Light Shop," about a group of strangers, each dealing with a traumatic event in the past. They are drawn to a mysterious light shop, which holds "the key to the strangers’ pasts, presents and futures."

Ju Ji-hoon also stars "The Light Shop," alongside Park Bo-young ("Strong Woman Do Bong-soon"), Lee Jung-eun ("Parasite"), and Bae Seong-woo ("Metamorphosis").
