(UPDATED) American singer Taylor Swift broke new Spotify records with her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," which was released on Friday. 

According to a post by Spotify, Swift now holds the record of the most streamed album in a single day. 

Based on its figures, "The Tortured Poets Department" tallied over 300 million streams on April 19, 2024. 

Swift's lead single "Fortnight" with Post Malone is now the most-streamed song in a single day.

She is also the most streamed artist in a single day in the history of the online streaming platform. 

The album, shortened as "Tortured Poets," features 16 tracks including one bonus track "The Manuscript."

Swift dropped a surprise treat for her fans and announced 15 additional songs two hours after the original release. 

The singer-songwriter called "Tortured Poets" a "secret DOUBLE album," and the second part "TTPD: The Anthology." 

Spotify earlier announced that 'Tortured Poets' became the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in the history of the music streaming platform.
