MANILA (UPDATED) — Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee found a date as she became a searcher on the “It’s Showtime” segment “EXpecially For You.” 

She was joined by her mother, Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, on Saturday as "It's Showtime" debuted on GMA Network.

During the segment, Marquez shared how she struggled to find love as an actress and beauty queen.

"Anak, alam mo naman ako, 'di rin naman ako mahilig talaga sa gwapo pero sa matalino, gusto ko kasi gusto ko may nagpapatawa sa akin at marami akong natututunan, 'Yung sa tingin mong matalino, magpapatawa sa'yo at hindi possessive, someone who will understand you," Marquez said when asked about what she's looking for her daughter's date.

After asking questions to know more about the three searchees, Dee in the end chose Oliver, Searchee Number 3, a lawyer over content creator Kevin and sportscaster Martin.

"Kasi 'yung sagot niya, secure siya sa sarili, it's so important. Hindi pwedeng insecure ang karelasyon mo, especially kapag artista," Dee said as she explained her choice.

Marquez was glad with Dee's choice: "I'm so glad na ang dali-dali mong makuha 'yung hint ko. I'm really-really grateful to God to have you in my life. Thank you for loving me, anak."

"I really like because first of all, you're a lawyer, and I hope you're not a liar but nevertheless huwag kang matakot sa akin kasi I will not judge you, you're not a book, that's why," the mother said to Oliver.

"It's Showtime" now airs from Monday to Saturday, 11:30 a.m., on GMA, GTV, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online, A2Z, and other Kapamilya platforms.
