MANILA – A Filipino musician is set to make TWICE members feel special.

OPM band Sponge Cola’s former drummer Chris Cantada will release a heartfelt song entitled “Once” dedicated to the K-pop powerhouse on May 24.

Originally, the song was slated for release later this year, but it got adjusted to coincide with TWICE’s fan meet in Manila on June 1.

Cantada described the song as a “love letter” for the K-pop girl group, more especially to its lead vocalist Jeongyeon who is also his bias.

But he assured fans – they can surely vibe with the song regardless of their favorite member.

“I wanted it to feel like every ONCE can sing it and have it resonate with them, no matter who their bias is,” he emphasized.

The musician already posted a preview of the song online, inviting listeners to pre-save the music and have a chance to win some giveaway items.

He also collected some videos from fellow ONCEs for the song’s music video.

Staying faithful to the essence of the track, Cantada collaborated with musicians who also admire the group – including OPM singer Hazel Faith for backing vocals, Conrad Javier for guitar, Inky De Dios for keyboard, Joey Santos for the production, and Angee Rozuel for the tracking of the recording.

There will be an English and a Korean version of the song. This is the musician’s first attempt to do the latter.

Cantada is the content creator behind the YouTube channel Chris Cantada Force and his first single was “Dragon, Fly” in 2023.
