EXCLUSIVE: After his wedding and coming out, will Medwin Marfil leave True Faith?

Medwin was flooded by congratulatory messages and best wishes, especially fans of his band True Faith.This was also the first time Medwin had publicly shared that he is gay.With this new chapter of his life, fans wonder: what will happen now with True Faith?After the wedding, the couple is now in the process of fixing Medwin’s papers. And that means, he would need to stay more in the United States.“Once na puwede na ko bumalik, ang plano ko is balik-balik - between Manila and San Francisco. And now that my presence is here na, I can have the guys come over din here to do shows and tours sa North America,” he said. Medwin believes this will open new doors for the band as well. He also feels his songwriting process and spirit will have more freedom. He made it clear that the band is not breaking up.  “Definitely not, exciting nga. Kasi itong new chapter ko sa buhay, buhay ko dito sa States, buhay na I’m no longer afraid who I am. I think it will inform the songwriting in richer ways kasi wala nang hindrance,” he said. “Siguro dati I was a little vague with my emotions and all that, ngayon this time, all out na. Last January, we were working on a new material. I wrote it, siya (Mark) yung inspiration ko.”“Sa mga nagtatanong kung tuloy pa ba ang True Faith? Tuloy pa rin, in whatever capacity. Alam mo yung mundo natin, it’s like a global village na. Madali na lang pumunta from one place to another to do gigs. And because of technology, me and my bandmates can make music, even we’re far apart,” he added. “Feeling ko talaga, sa situation namin since we’ve committed together to each other, definitely mas based na ako dito. But True Faith will still go on. I think there will be, it’s exciting for us personally, and for the band as well.”
