<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/171474754169920240503-fermin-alonzo.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div>MANILA  -- Veteran entertainment columnist and vlog host Cristy Fermin on Friday reacted after actress Bea Alonzo filed a cyber libel complaint against her.<a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/2024/5/2/bea-alonzo-files-criminal-raps-against-showbiz-columnists-co-hosts-1739">Alonzo</a> filed a formal complaint against Fermin and talent manager <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/2024/5/2/ogie-diaz-speaks-up-on-cyberlibel-raps-filed-by-bea-alonzo-2257">Ogie Diaz</a> for allegedly reporting defamatory remarks against her.Fermin addressed the issue in her online show &quot;Cristy Ferminute.&quot; &quot;Alam po namin na mayroon po kayong hinihintay na tugon ngayong araw na ito dahil kahapon po ay nagsampa si Bea Alonzo sa inyong lingkod kay Ogie Diaz at sa iba pa po naming mga kasama. Wala pa po akong detalyo na maibibigay sa inyo dahil wala pa po kaming hawak na impormasyon. Hindi pa po namin alam kung ano ang nilalaman ng kaniyang sinumpaang salaysay at kung bakit siya nag-sampa ng kasong libelo,&quot; Fermin said. &quot;Ang libelo po o ang cyberlibel o cyber bullying na tinatawag nila ay kakambal ng aming propesyon. Ito po ay parang dila at ngipin na magkasama. Hindi po maaaring paghiwalayin. Pero napakalayo pa po ng tatakbuhin ng kasong ito, magpapalitan pa po kami ng aming mga sinumpaang salaysay para ang prosecution na po ang magdedesisyon kung sino ba ang nasa tama at kung sino naman ang nasa panig ng mali,&quot; she said. She said her entertainment program was not designed just to earn revenue from the actress. &quot;Hindi lamang po namin matatanggap ni Ogie Diaz &#x27;yung kaniyang kampo na nagsasabi na ang aming daw pong vlogs ay ginagawa para magkaroon lamang ng mataas na views at pagkakitaan si Bea Alonzo. Ang programa po ni Ogie Diaz at ang kaniyang programang showbiz now na at maging ito pong Cristy Ferminute ay dinisenyo hindi lamang po para kay Bea Alonzo,&quot; she explained.  &#x27;Ito po ay para ibalita ang lahat kuwento, positibo man o hindi tungkol sa mga personalidad na tinatawag nating public figures at bilang pang publikong pigura po sila ay kami naman po ang nagtatawid ng mga balita tungkol sa kanila. Hindi po namin puwedeng puhunanin si Bea Alonzo lamang para kumita ang aming mga vlogs, mali po iyun. Lahat ng mga kuwento ay inilalatag po namin at depende na lamang po sa pagtanggap ng mga personalidad na aming tinatalakay.&quot; Fermin added that she defended the actress from the past issues she encountered.&quot;Saksi po kayo mga kapatid sa marami at mahabang panahon na ako po ang unang unang armas at nasa harapan at wala sa likuran ng pagtatanggol kay Bea Alonzo. Alam niyo po ang kaniyang mga pinagdaanang isyu, ako po ang nagbigay ng proteksyon sa kaniya. Ako po ang nagtanggol, kinalaban ko po ang lahat para mabigyan ko siya ng magandang pagtalakay at opinyon,&quot; she said.According to Fermin, she understands Alonzo&#x27;s move to file a complaint against them but this doesn&#x27;t mean the end of her freedom in expressing her opinion towards certain issues.  &quot;Yung karapatan mo Bea Alonzo para magsampa ng kaso sa amin ni Ogie Diaz at sa iba pa naming mga kasama iyan ay hindi namin hinaharangan. Pero kung ito ang dahilan para busalan niyo ang bibig, opinyon at malaya naming pamamahayag ay nagkakamali kayo.
