Actor Alex Diaz recently opened up about feeling like he received a second chance in his career following an issue in 2019.

Diaz's name gained fame on social media when a fitness coach publicly exposed private messages they exchanged.

Subsequently, Diaz made the decision to come out as bisexual, sharing the news on his Instagram account.

Fast forward five years, and Diaz is now promoting his latest project, a queer international movie titled "Glitter and Doom".

In this musical film, Diaz takes on a leading role, portraying a character in a story that revolves around love and the challenges faced by two individuals whose career paths lead them in different directions. He co-leads with British actor Alan Cammish.

Diaz reflected on the events of 2019, particularly during the pandemic.

"I really thought I would retire. That was the time I came out. God really does have other plans because I was in Canada and I thought I should apply to Domino's Pizza, and then I received a call from ABS-CBN offering me a role," he said.

He emphasized the importance of working towards equality, acceptance, and inclusivity in the Philippines, acknowledging that there is still much to be done in these areas. He expressed gratitude for the healing power of time and the support of his faith.

"Time heals everything, and you just have to trust in God's plan and keep on working, which is what I've been doing," stated.

"Glitter and Doom" explores the story of two individuals deeply in love, both aspiring musicians and actors, whose paths diverge as they pursue their dreams. The musical features songs from the iconic American folk rock duo, the Indigo Girls, adding a unique and emotional depth to the film's narrative.

“It's a story where in our country where sexual suppression is at the roots of so many issues with Filipinos with acceptance to have this movie where in this universe love is love is love, queer is the norm, I think that’s so important because representation really does matter," Diaz shared.

Viewers can catch 'Glitter and Doom' in theaters beginning June 5, just in time for Pride month.
