Ronnie Alonte says trust is key to his relationship with Loisa Andalio

MANILA -- Kapamilya star Ronnie Alonte shared that while he has no plans yet of getting hitched soon, he believes his on-and-off screen partner Loisa Andalio is his endgame. 

“Kami ni Loisa enjoy kami, focused kami sa trabaho, makapag-ipon at makapag-invest pa. Eight years na kami this year. Kung mahal mo tao dapat may plano kayo, kung wala, maghiwalay na kayo,” Alonte said in an interview in Quezon City. 

(Loisa and I are just enjoying and focusing on our career. We hope to save and invest. We will be 8 years this year. Soon. If you love someone, you should have a plan. If you don’t then it is better to separate.) 

“Siya na talaga, siya na, alam mo iyon,” he added.

According to Alonte, the key to their long-lasting relationship is trust.

“Siguro pagiging relaxed namin sa isa’t isa. Hinahayaan ko siya, hinahayaan niya ako. She goes out with her friends, and she lets me go out with mine. Hindi kami mahigpit sa isa’t isa. Kaya walang sakalan. 'Pag ganoon partner, iba eh. Personal, iba nararamdaman ko. Bihira ka maka-experience,” he said. 

(We are relaxed with each other. I let her be on her own, and she does the same. We are not strict. We don’t put each other on a tight leash. If your partner is like that, it is different. Personally for me, it feels different. It is rare to experience something like this)

Alonte, who is currently pursuing a career in basketball, said he does not mind Andalio being paired with other actors in her projects. 

“Sinabi ko sa kanya 'pag nag-selos ka wala kang tiwala. ‘Paano ngayon. Ikaw nasa basketball, ikaw nasa showbiz,’ handa ako makapag-partner siya ng iba.' May tiwala ako sa 'yo. Bakit siya magseselos? Bakit ako magseselos?” he explained. 

(I told her if you get jealous, you have no trust. How can it work if I am doing sports while you are in showbiz. I said I am ready for her to have a different on-screen parter, I trust her. I have no reason to be jealous and she has no reason either.) 

The actor said if given the opportunity he may consider making basketball, which he dubbed as his first love, a full-time career. 

“Wala pa ako ginagawa. Si Star and ABS, wala nakalatag sa akin. 'Pag nabigyan ako pagkakataon makilala or sumikat, ta-try ko. 'Pag nabigyan ako ng magandang pagkakataon. Sa ngayon kung saan tayo kikita,”  he said. 

(For now, I do not have a project with Star or ABS. So if I have the chance to make a name in basketball, I will try. For now, I will work where I can earn.)
