MANILA -- Despite his success, Kapuso actor David Licauco remains humble, as he expressed gratitude for his blessings.

Licauco said he was a shy kid and during the press conference for his new movie “That Kind of Love” with Barbie Forteza under the direction of Catherine Camarillo, he admitted that he’s an introvert.

“Okay lang sa akin ‘yung one-on-one interviews, pero kapag ganito kalaki, na maraming tao, it gives me so much anxiety, it makes me anxious,” he said.

In his previous interview with Scout Magazine, the model and actor insisted that he’s still the same David Licauco.

“Siguro I have more responsibilities now. But I’ve been sort of the same since I was in high school and elementary,” he said.

About his fame, he said, “I’m a bit more careful now [with my actions] and I’m still trying my best to figure out. People look up to me, so they see me as an inspiration.”

“Lahat naman tayo, minsan nakakalimutan nating bigyan ng importansya kung sino talagang core group mo, kasi siyempre with all the things that happen in our lives. So, sometimes you have to be aware na, ‘you’re still David na anak ng parents mo, [and] a brother,’” he added.

In the movie “That Kind of Love,” Licauco plays Adam, a successful and rich businessman in search for a special someone.

“We are pressured, but I know how good the material is. This is also directed by Direk CC. As long as we do our part in promoting the film, I know this will do good in the box office. I can control the things that I can do, so we just have to promote and help the movie,” the lead actor shared during the press con.

Showing on July 10, “That Kind of Love" is a Spotlight entry and an awardee at Japan's Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival. It is the second outing of Pocket Media Productions, Inc., in cooperation with Pocket Media Films and Happy Infinite Productions, Inc.

Directed by Catherine Camarillo and written by Ellis Catrina, it also stars Al Tantay, Arlene Muhlach, Jef Gaitan, Divin Aucina, Ivan Carpiet, and Kaila Estrada.
