MANILA — Filipino rapper Gloc-9 performed his hit classic "Sirena" during a thanksgiving event for Pride Month in Quezon City held Sunday.

He was supposed to perform at the Pride Night event last week but that ended early due to heavy rains.

In his set, Gloc-9 performed tracks like "Simpleng Tao," "Upuan," and "Sumayaw Ka," pumping up the crowd.

The queers cheered when the rapper introduced his next song dedicated to his child, who is also a member of the LGBT community.

"Thank you so much for having me, isang awitin na ang tanging laman ay respeto at pang-unawa sa kahit na sinong tao, mayaman o mahirap, naligo o hindi, mabaho o mabango, maitim o maputi, matangos o pango ang ilong, panget o maganda, panget o pogi, babae, lalaki, bakla, o tomboy, pantay-pantay lang tayo," Gloc-9 said as he concludes his set with "Sirena."

In February 2024, Gloc-9 revealed that "Sirena" was a gift to his child to show how proud he is of them regardless of their sexuality.

"Sirena" was reclaimed as a queer anthem after the final lip sync battle between Marina Summers and Precious Paula Nicole for "Drag Race Philippines" Season 1 in 2022.
