On Tuesday, the group's label, SM Entertainment, announced that the quintet plans to release new music at the end of the month, as reported by the K-pop news website Soompi.

"Red Velvet is planning on making a comeback at the end of June," SM said, as quoted in the Soompi article.

The upcoming release will become Red Velvet's first comeback since the full-length album, "Chill Kill," in November 2023.

Members Irene, Wendy and Seulgi went to the Philippines in December to play at a New Year countdown celebration at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

At a press conference for the event, Irene said she hoped Red Velvet could release an album this 2024 in time for the group's 10th anniversary.

Also consisting of Joy and Yeri, Red Velvet debuted in August 2014 under SM Entertainment, home to other popular girl groups such as Girls' Generation and aespa.

Red Velvet's music is often divided into two main themes: the "red" side, featuring catchy pop songs with a vibrant vibe, and the "velvet" side, showcasing a more mature and sophisticated R&B style. Their notable singles include "Red Flavor," "Bad Boy" and "Psycho."
