A new prequel of the dystopian book series "The Hunger Games" is in the works and will be released next year.

In an announcement on Facebook, The Hunger Games Page revealed that the book will be titled "Sunrise of the Reaping" and will recount the events of the 50th Hunger Games or 2nd Quarter Quell where Haymitch Abernathy won.

In the 2nd Quarter Quell, four tributes were reaped from each district, doubling the challengers in the Hunger Games.

Abernathy is the first winner of District 12 and will be the mentor of Katniss Everdeen who will be the voice of the revolution in Panem against the Capitol.

In 2020, Suzanne Collins released "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" revealing the life of President Snow before he became the tyrant leader of Panem. It was later on adapted into a movie.

"Sunrise of the Reaping" will be released on March 18, 2025.

It will also have a film to be released on November 20, 2026.

"The Hunger Games" trilogy is a dystopian book series circling around the life of Katniss Everdeen after she volunteered to compete after her sister, Prim, was reaped.

Her journey will develop into a revolution against The Capitol and will revolve around how they won against the tyrant President Snow.
