MANILA — For Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, their upcoming film "Un/happy For You" will teach moviegoers about healing.

Asked about the learnings viewers will get from the film, Garcia said: “Feeling ko isa rito ‘yung healing, ‘yung pag-accept."

Barretto added that all the members of the cast have their own journeys that people could reflect on.

"May sariling personal journey si Juancho, may sariling personal journey si Zy, and even all of our characters here in our movie we all have our personal journeys na nakikita namin sa isa’t isa para kaming reflection ng isa’t isa," she said.

She added that the film would be a two-hour roller coaster ride learning about pain and joy.

"We all have our different pains and personal joys pero (it’s about) healing, letting go, it’s accepting, it’s setting free, it’s gonna be a roller coaster ride in this film. Excited kami na guluhin ang buhay niyo for two hours," she said.

Garcia noted that moviegoers would also learn how to handle relationships through their roles, Juancho and Zy.

"If you watch the movie and nakita niyo kung paano ni-handle ni Juancho and Zy, malalaman mo kung paano siya i-handle bilang ikaw ‘yung nanonood sa POV mo," he said.

Joining Barretto and Garcia are Nonie Buencamino, Ketchup Eusebio, John Lapus, Kaila Estrada, Aljon Mendoza, Bong Gonzales, Ana Abad Santos, and Meann Espinosa.

Directed by Petersen Vargas and written by Kookai Labayen, Crystal San Miguel, and Jen Chuaunsu, "Un/happy For You" will hit theaters on August 14.

Garcia and Barretto first worked together for "Vince and Kath and James" in 2016, followed by "Love You to the Stars and Back" in 2017, "I Love You, Hater" in 2018 and "Block Z" in 2020.

They also worked together in the TV series "Ngayon at Kailanman" in 2018 and reunited for the music video of Moira dela Torre's "Paubaya" in 2021.
