MANILA (UPDATED) -- Actor Michael de Mesa was on his way home from taping when he got stranded in Cainta, Rizal where some areas were left impassable by  heavy flooding.

De Mesa told ABS-CBN News that his taping wrapped up around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. On his way out of Cainta, he said that he got stranded for a staggering 22 hours.

On Thursday morning, the actor posted a snapshot of the standstill traffic on his Instagram account with the caption, "Stranded for 17 hours now coming from taping yesterday. Naiiyak na ko. The tow truck can't get through and my anxiety is kicking in. I just wanna go home."

"Affected talaga ako sa nangyari sa akin," de Mesa told ABS-CBN News.

"Finally being towed after more than 22 hours of being stuck. Maraming salamat, NJP Towing! A heartfelt thanks to everyone who reached out, sent assistance, and shared their heartfelt messages," he said.

"I deeply appreciate your kindness and support. My thoughts and prayers are with those in more difficult situations. Stay safe, everyone."
