Jaya turns emotional after performing with Regine Velasquez in ‘ASAP in California’

<p>ONTARIO, California -- The successful &quot;ASAP Natin &#x27;To in California&#x27; last week also served as a reunion for best friends Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and Jaya. The two divas performed their iconic duet &quot;Habang May Buhay&quot; during the segment that featured collaborations between Kapamilya stars and US-based Filipino talents. </p><p>“It’s so nostalgic kasi ilang taon na ba akong wala sa atin, tapos we saw each other a few days ago, and literally pure joy for me. Pure joy to see everyone from the boss, the singers, to the staff, lahat. Napakasaya. I’m so overjoyed,” said Jaya.  </p><p>The soul singer added, “Bitin kaming pareho, pero there’s nothing we can do. Pero the fact that we got to talk, kasi ang daming chika, alam mo na. Catching up. I’m seeing Jonalyn. It was just pure joy for me,” she said.</p><p>Jaya is currently based in Texas with her family for quite some time now. While away from the usual limelight in the Philippines, she’s still actively performing and doing shows in North America. She revealed that there are plans to come back to the Philippines again to do concerts. </p><p>“Try nating bumalik with the help of Cornerstone (Management), &#x27;yung mga managers natin doon. We were planning for November, pero parang bitin siya. Kasi meron akong Middle East (gig), baka ang lola mo bilang matanda na, baka hindi maka-survive nang sakto.”</p><p>She added,  “At least if not for this year, end of the year next year na sana. Hindi pwedeng hindi bumaik dahil ang mga fishball, taho, mga ganern.
