She was 85.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/2024/8/4/movie-mogul-mother-lily-monteverde-passes-away-1529" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">READ: Movie mogul &#x27;Mother Lily&#x27; Monteverde passes away</a></div><p>&quot;Regal Babies&quot; Maricel Soriano and Sheryl Cruz also shared their heartfelt eulogies for the producer, whom they described as a &quot;beacon of light.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Her influence extended beyond her production empire, she also gave lessons of love -- patience, professionalism, kindness, empathy, and courage. These are tenets she lived by and instilled in everyone. She had a zest for life that was infectious,&quot; said Cruz.</p><p>&quot;Totoong nanay po talaga siya. Si Mother disciplinarian, prangka, pero number one cheerleader mo. Sa lahat ng ups and downs ng buhay ko, hindi nawala si mother. Hindi sapat ang pasasalamat para masuklian lahat,&quot; Soriano said in her eulogy.</p><p>Roderick Paulate, who started his decades-long career in the industry as a child star of Regal Entertainment, likewise attested Monteverde stood as a mother figure. </p><p>&quot;Malaki utang na loob ko kay mother. Hindi lang siya nag-invest ng pelikula sa akin. Nag-invest siya ng puso bilang ina,&quot; Paulate shared in his speech. </p><p>Monteverde&#x27;s compassionate nature, however, was not reserved only for &quot;Regal Baby&quot; talents.</p><p>&quot;Hindi ako Regal baby, &#x27;Mother&#x27; baby ako. Napatunayan ko relationship namin noong nasunog ako, na-accident ako. Araw araw ako pinupuntahan ni Mother. Dinadalan niya ako soup. Araw-araw. Isang buwan po ako diyan. Nagbigay din siya tulong pang-bayad sa ospital,&quot; actor-turned-Senator Robin Padilla recalled.</p><p>&quot;Hanggang sa kulungan ko, pinupuntahan ako. Hindi niya ako artista ha. Pero hanggang sa Bilibid pinuntahan ako ni Mother. Hanggang sa makalabas ako— Binigyan ako dinner ni Mother. Pati pang enroll ng anak ko, binigay ni Mother,&quot; he added. </p><p>Annabelle Rama, meanwhile, shared that before becoming &quot;best friends,&quot; she initially had a volatile relationship with Monteverde. </p><p>&quot;Hindi ako Regal baby, mga anak ko lang. Lagi kami nag-aaway ni Mother sa billing, kontrata, cheke, at promo. Lagi kami nag-aaway. Alam ng buong showbiz yan. Away bati, kasi hindi ko maintindihan ugali, hindi niya maintindihan ugali ko,&quot; Rama explained.</p><p>&quot;Bandang huli nagkasundo kaming dalawa. Nakuha na namin ugali eh. Hanggang nagmahalan kami dalawa, lagi kami nagkikita. Hanggang pandemic lagi kami nagkikita. Best friend na kami, wala na kami pag uusapan about pera o trabaho. Basta lagi kami magkasama,&quot; she added.</p><p>Other stars who offered a eulogy to honor the industry pillar were Ice Seguerra, Herbert Bautista, Senator Grace Poe, Assunta de Rossi and Charo Santos-Concio. </p><p>ABS-CBN COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, Claudine Barretto, Christopher de Leon, Ara Mina, Senator Risa Hontiveros, Senator Loren Legarda, Eddie Gutierrez, Jaime Fabregas, Rez Cortez, Stella Suarez Jr., Pepe Herrera, were among the Entertainment personalities who condoled with the Monteverde family during the last night of her wake. </p><p>Other stars who offered a eulogy to honor the industry pillar were Ice Seguerra, Herbert Bautista, Senator Grace Poe, Assunta de Rossi and Board of Director of ABS-CBN Corporation Charo Santos-Concio. </p><p>&quot;Whether we are kapamilya, kapuso, kapatid, kaibigan o kahit na nakagawa tayo ng isang project sa regal films lahat tayo matatawag natin ating mga sariling regal babies. Ako po ay naging regal baby sa likod ng camera noong naimbitahan ako ni Mother Lily to join regal films as the creative manager in 1984.
