Netflix announced Friday the upcoming season's premiere date on its social media accounts, accompanied by a minute-long teaser video.

"Hellbound," which debuted in 2021, is set in a world where supernatural entities suddenly appear to deliver decrees of damnation. They inform individuals of the exact date and time they will be condemned to hell. When that moment arrives, a trio of monstrous beings materializes to incinerate the condemned person's body.

The phenomenon gives rise to various groups, including cults and gangs, that exploit people's fears.

The second season seems poised to explore the aftermath of the first season's finale, which revealed the possibility of resurrection from hell.

The teaser video features the resurrection of Jung Jin-soo, the cult leader and central figure from the first season, who is later engulfed in flames before a monstrous entity.

In the new season, actor Kim Sung-cheol, whose past series include "Sweet Home" and "Our Beloved Summer," takes over the role of Jin-soo, replacing Yoo Ah-in.

Ah-in was recently found guilty of the illegal use of the anesthetic drug propofol and sentenced to one year in prison.

In a press release, director Yeon Sang-ho said he felt both "excited and nervous with anticipation for the series to meet fans after three years."

"For anyone who enjoyed the first season, season two will be filled with interesting questions to think about," he added.
