Lovi Poe ventures into film production with Regal

<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:950px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1727059806961IMG_7268.jpg" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">&quot;Guilty Pleasure&quot; stars Lovi Poe and Jameson Blake.</span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>MANILA -- After tying the knot last year with British film producer Monty Blencowe and ending her<a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/01/05/24/lovi-poe-hopes-best-for-batang-quiapo" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"> Mokang Dimaculangan role in “Batang Quiapo”</a> last January, actress Lovi Poe faces her newest challenge, that of being a producer.</p><p>She recently launched her own film production outfit, C’est Lovi Productions, that puts the spotlight on Filipino talent, with one of the three titles that were unveiled on the 60th anniversary of Regal Films, with whom Poe is co-producing “Guilty Pleasure.”</p><p>“I just want to say thank you Miss Roselle (Monteverde) and my Regal family,” Poe said. “I started my career as a Regal baby. My first-ever film project was with Regal. They were the first ones who followed me and I will always be grateful to them.”</p><p>Poe added, “The fact that I am now part of this collaboration of C’est Lovi Productions and Regal Films, it was such an honor. I just can’t believe that I got to partner with the benchmark of the entertainment industry.</p><p>“Regal is one of the established and successful production companies in the Philippines and I’m truly grateful. You can really see how much they support their Regal babies. Since I started as an actress, they have been very supportive, as well.</p><p>“Now that I’m venturing into a new job, I’m just so glad that Regal is still be my side. Not only that. I get to call Miss Roselle. I bug her and I ask her for advice. Really, thank you, Miss Roselle. I’m just so happy to be part of this family.”</p><p>“Guilty Pleasure” reunites Poe with director Connie Macatuno, after their highly acclaimed drama, “Malaya” (2020), which earned for Poe an Urian best actress nomination. She was paired opposite Zanjoe Marudo.</p><p>“Guilty Pleasure” is written by Noreen Capili, who was simply asked by Monteverde to think of a film project for Poe. “That was the only thing given,” Capili said. “So we thought of lust, abuse whether verbal, physical, sexual.</p><p>“These are done by men and we have a platform to talk about those things visually. The idea came from untold stories. The victims were their boyfriends or husbands.”</p><p>Poe is supported by her leading men JM de Guzman and Jameson Blake in “Guilty Pleasure,” with Dustin Yu, Sarah Edwards and Angelica Lao.</p><p>“Guilty Pleasure” revolves around the complex relationships and personal struggles of three ambitious lawyers as they navigate their way through love, betrayal and revenge.</p><p>“Since storytelling is such a powerful tool, what’s good about this film is that after they watched this film, they are about to talk about it,” Poe said. “This is a topic that needs to be discussed because this is a very crucial topic.”</p><p>Poe described the environment on the set as “very fun” to shoot. “This is a very sensitive topic what we’re trying to convey.
