The streaming giant recently unveiled the film's premiere date on its social media platforms, accompanied by a teaser poster.

Written by Park and directed by Kim Sang-man, the action-packed feature follows two childhood friends who reunite as enemies amidst a war, according to Netflix.

Prior to its arrival on Netflix, "Uprising" will have its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival on Oct. 2, the streamer said.

The film stars Gang Dong-won ("Temptation of Wolves" and "Peninsula"), Park Jeong-min ("Hellbound" and "The 8 Show"), and Cha Seung-won ("Our Blues" and "The Tyrant").

Considered as one of South Korea's most prominent filmmakers, Park is known for acclaimed films such as "Oldboy" and "The Handmaiden." In 2022, he won best director at the Cannes Film Festival for the mystery film "Decision to Leave."
