Korina Sanchez pays tribute to late actress Rosa Rosal: ‘In her life story I found an inspiration every woman must have’

<p>Veteran broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez honored the late Rosa Rosal shortly after news broke of the actress‑humanitarian’s passing.  </p><p>In an Instagram post on November 15, Korina shared how deeply Rosa had touched her life. Korina recalled that when her own mother died at age 64, she faced her wedding day without the guiding presence of a parent. And in her life story I found an inspiration every woman must have. Widowed early. Never remarried. She said that on her wedding day with Mar Roxas, Rosa became the mother for this milestone. In 2018, Korina shared that Mar even asked for the late actress’s blessing for their wedding, as he respected the the Filipino tradition of <em>pamamanhikan</em>.  </p><p>“Huge contribution to humanity this one was. She became my Mom that day I married and till her last breath, she fought like the warrior I&#x27;d always known her to be.” </p><p>“We lost yet another big one today. Over her more than seven decades with the humanitarian organization as a member and later a governor, she championed voluntary blood donation, led welfare services, and used every platform she had to promote compassion and volunteerism.  </p>
