<p>Former PBA player Doug Kramer opened up about life as a “sports parent” and raising his children in a heart-to-heart conversation on Bernadette Sembrano’s vlog.</p><div> </div><p>Doug shared that discipline and balance play key roles in both his parenting style and his children’s growing interests.</p><div> </div><p>“We gave them options for their sports and we try to say parang how they look natural and ask how they feel. This is Kendra’s club team, she has more extensive training (here),” he explained. “She gets to be exposed with kids younger than her, athletes that are much better than her to pull her. She trained under a rigorous training program every day. Kendra started swimming when she was 10 or 11 but it wasn&#x27;t a regular train parang more for fun.”</p><div> </div><p>He added that her dedication deepened when they realized her school training could be supplemented further through professional coaching.</p><div> </div><p>“2 and a half years ago she started to become more serious and we realize that her school training could be supplemented even more,” he said. “The swimming scene is very competitive and there’s a lot of great swimmers in the swim scene but she got to meet her ates that trained her also. These are the girls that are very famous in the swim scene and it’s nice that she gets to see the level that she has wanted. As a sports parent, you want to be there for your kids but you don&#x27;t want to meddle. You have to let the coaches decide for them when it comes to their training time. During the games or competition of the kids, you won&#x27;t see me shouting as much. It started when they watched me and then sa school has sports and everything and let them try everything.” he said.</p><div> </div><p>Beyond sports, Doug proudly shared that their kids are also artistic and well-grounded despite growing up in the public eye. The Kramers, known for their wholesome and family-oriented social media presence, addressed misconceptions about “overexposing” their children online.</p><div> </div><p>“Ever since she was young, there have been offers for her to do movies, for her to be in showbiz but the truth is where will her childhood go?” Doug explained. “People on social media saying you guys are exposing your kids? I’m like, how? We’re strictly on our social media and when we get offers to do brands or being a representative for a brand or ambassadors or endorsers that have to fall on a schedule. There is no overexposure.”</p><div> </div><p>“We’d rather not invade the privacy of our kids and allow them to be children.”</p><div> </div><p>Chesca echoed her husband’s sentiment, emphasizing that they make sure their kids still get to enjoy a normal, happy childhood. </p><div> </div><p>“We never stop our kids from being kids. We said, ‘Okay lang ‘yan. Enjoy lang kayo!’” she said.</p><div> </div>
