<p>MNL48 is set to begin a new chapter as the group officially announced plans to change both its operating company name and group name in January 2026. Some questioned how the changes might affect the group’s music and identity.  </p><p>“Wait what? So you guys wont be singing 48 groups songs anymore?,” one fan asked. </p><p>“Mejo nakakakaba naman to,” another shared.  </p><p>Others speculated on possible new names for the group, with one fan suggesting, “AKB48 TEAM MANILA or AKB48 TEAM ML 😆 Just like their sister groups in Taiwan and China.” </p><p>Earlier this year, MNL48 also announced its comeback after years of hiatus, alongside the transfer of its operations to the newly established Japanese corporation MNL48 Inc.
