<p>From trainees to idols.</p><p>In an interview for the TFC talk show <em>BRGY</em> hosted by Bianca Gonzalez, BGYO members took part in a fun activity reflecting on how much they’ve grown both physically and professionally.</p><p>Bianca flashed before-and-after photos of the boys on the screen, comparing their trainee days to their current looks.</p><div><iframe width="1263" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/u_4pvIFHCBU" title="How Has BGYO Grown Over the Years? | Jan 24, 2025 | BRGY S3 Ep 159" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>BGYO leader Gelo, who looked back on his brown hair and highlights from their trainee days, commented on their journey so far.</p><p>“Five years, parang ang bilis nga lang ng pangyayari. Magugulat ka na lang talaga sa daming nangyari, both good and bad. And also, looking back at how I wrote songs before, I really enjoy the process now, na parang nakita kong nag-e-evolve yung sound ko,” Mikki explained.</p><p>The basketball player-turned-idol also admitted that he still finds writing songs a challenge, especially with some distractions.</p><p>“Pero real challenge po talaga is practicing how to write songs kasi ang hirap po talaga. Mabilis po akong ma-distract, lalo na pag may bagong anime makita. Naka-schedule po yang writing sessions ko eh, okay, after dinner susulat ako, pero may nakita akong bagong anime, bukas na,” Mikki shared.</p><p>He went on, “Pag hindi ko po inischedule, hindi ko po gagawin. Kaya ayon, ang pinaka-problem ko this year. I’ve been writing songs before, before trainee pa po, it’s not something I will do every time. Parang hinihintay ko lang yung inspiration, so the growth is not that much. Starting this year, I try to put time and effort. Ang layo na nung JL dati sa JL ngayon” JL remarked.</p><p>The self-confessed former kontesero openly shared that he also wants to try new things this time, such as hosting.</p><p>“Gusto ko po pasukan (‘yung hosting) kasi yung Aces, even yung mga tao na kasama namin, parang sinasabi nila meron daw akong kakayahang mag-host. Alam ko mahirap, pero gusto ko subukan kasi madaldal po talaga akong tao. Gusto ko talagang nagsasalita nang nagsasalita. Dahil matagal ka nang nandito sa BGYO, matagal ka nang member ng BGYO, ano yung pinakamalaking natutunan mo sa kanilang apat?” JL asked Nate.</p><p>Although joking at first, Nate eventually gave a thoughtful answer. “Siyempre, singing, Tagalog culture, kasi I grew up in Chicago, and having brothers.”</p><p>Speaking of the dancing machine Nate, he shared that he is trying to live a healthier lifestyle now.</p><p>&quot;Yung meaning ko po ng healthier lifestyle, mentally and physically, pati sa diet and workflow ko po. Kasi feeling ko po before, sobrang nagka-cram po ako, lahat ng things to do, like learning to dance or preparing for a show, like last minute yung prep ko. So, I fixed my sched and organized my own place, and it felt it clears my mind so much po. Just last year, Akira took part in the re-run of <em>Tabing Ilog: The Musical,</em> playing the role of Rovic.</p><p>&quot;Iba po yung culture talaga ng theater kesa sa mainstream or sa work po namin.
