<p>Manhunt International 2024 Kevin Dasom opened up about his journey in pursuing acting in the Philippines, ahead of starring in an upcoming Filipino TV series.</p><p>In an interview during the Miss Universe Philippines - Quezon City coronation night at SM North EDSA Sky Dome, the Thai-Irish male pageant titleholder revealed that this isn’t his first venture into acting.</p><div style="text-align:center"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1738744186137Manhunt International 2024 Kevin Dasom shares thoughts on pursuing acting projects in the Philippines.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>“Many people don’t know about this, but when I was 14 to 18 years old, I was an actor in Thailand. Before I did pageantry, I was in some TV series and soap operas,” he shared.</p><p>Kevin mentioned that, for him, the main difference between acting and walking the ramp in pageants is the level of pressure involved.</p><p>He explained: “The main difference, to be honest, is the amount of stress. It’s a real team effort, you know? The light crew, the camera crew, the director, the producers, everyone is putting in a lot of work, and it’s really important that you respect what everyone is doing. And you go up there, it doesn’t matter how tired you are, it doesn’t matter how you feel, you go to your job, you have a good time, and that’s really important,” Kevin explained.</p><p>When asked about the difference between acting projects in the Philippines and Thailand, the model-actor straightforwardly said: “To be honest, I prefer the Philippines. No bias, I prefer the Philippines. The attention to detail is much higher, and the way they treat you, they treat you more as a person rather than an actor. In Thailand, you’re just treated as a thing, like an object, that’s how I put it.”</p><p>But Kevin was quick to clarify that he meant no disrespect, emphasizing that he was simply sharing his experience.</p><p>&quot;I&#x27;m not talking about the industry negatively, I just talk about my experience,” the male pageant titleholder explained.</p><p>Kevin is the 22nd Manhunt International winner, having triumphed over male contestants from different countries in Ayutthaya, Thailand, last May 2024.
