Daisy Ridley arrives in PH for filming of Hollywood rom-com 'The Last Resort'

<p>Hollywood star Daisy Ridley has arrived in the Philippines to begin work on her upcoming film, <em>The Last Resort</em>, which will be shot in the country.</p><div><br/></div><p>In an interview with MJ Marfori of <em>One PH</em>, the <em>Star Wars</em> actress expressed her excitement about being part of a project that highlights the Philippines.</p><div><br/></div><p>&quot;It&#x27;s really wonderful to be on a project that&#x27;s actually filming here, and set here, and bringing eyes to the Philippines,&quot; she said.</p><div><br/></div><p>When asked what drew her to the film, Daisy relayed: &quot;The script. I love the script. I love the director and the idea of doing something that&#x27;s so bedded in the culture of here, of family, and love, yeah so all of that.&quot;</p><div><br/></div><p><em>The Last Resort</em> marks Daisy’s first foray into romantic comedy, a genre she is thrilled to explore. &quot;All of it is very exciting,&quot; she remarked.</p><div><br/></div><p>As for how she&#x27;s preparing for the role, the actress, she shared: &quot;We will see what the preparations about to be. She meets Ben (Alden Ehrenreich), a charming expat pilot who helps her rediscover freedom and love as she faces a choice between duty and desire.</p><div><br/></div><p>Donald Petrie, the director behind<em></em><em> Miss Congeniality</em> and <em>How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days</em>, will be directing the movie. Karen McCullah, who wrote <em>10 Things I Hate About You</em> and <em>Legally Blonde</em>, wrote the script. </p><div><br/></div><p>Manuel V. Pangilinan takes on the role of executive producer for the film, with production led by Ernesto &quot;Bong&quot; Sta. Maria Jr. and Raja Collins. Simon Heo, Akshay Mehta, and Rick Dugdale also join the team as co-producers.</p>
