<p>Mary, fondly called by Filipinos as “Mama Mary,” is one of most renowned figures Catholic women look up to. She is known by many other titles, and is revered by many for her significant role in Jesus’ life. With her simplicity, modesty, and utmost obedience to God, it is truly a challenge to follow in her footsteps.  </p><p>Nevertheless, the following actresses were able to make their mark as Mary in their respective religious films and series.  </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Olivia Hussey</strong></div><p><strong> </strong>British actress Olivia Hussey was one of the notable actresses who portrayed Mary. She was chosen for role in the religious theatrical play <em>Martir Sa Golgota</em>, which was staged at the Manila Grand Opera House.  </p><p>According to Philippine Star columnist Ricky Lo, the said play was a “Lenten offering based on the life and passion of Christ.”  </p>
