EXCLUSIVE: Jarren Garcia, proud to be a MYX VJ: ‘I want to bring a different sort of vibe’

<p>After being introduced as one of the new VJs for MYX last November, Jarren Garcia was excited to see all the exciting activities and interviews lined up for him at the popular local music channel.</p><p>“My 2025 is super fun, packed, and exciting. I’ve always been able to get good rest but it has also been super fun. I was with the other VJs through the audition process and before picking the VJs and through the awards night ceremony. I think they are the most fun and energetic people ever. You will never be bored with them and it’s been super fun. It doesn’t feel like you’re working. I want to bring a different sort of vibe than you think a regular VJ would bring. Someone who’s super fun but who still keeps it super chill. Because for me, I don’t like to do too much (laughs). I kind of wanna combine the two to show the Filipino community what the international music would like and to show the world what Filipino music looks like. I think I just can’t wait to venture into new wonders of music and like introduce international music to Filipinos, Filipino music to international just like that,” he explained.</p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/music/2025/1/13/18-fun-facts-about-pbb-gen-11-alum-jarren-garcia-0002"><strong>READ: 18 fun facts about PBB Gen 11 alum Jarren Garcia</strong></a></div><p>Jarren also launched his self-titled debut album which features songs from R&amp;B, soul, and ballad genres and includes eight songs with the first track “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” which Jarren composed with StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos and ABS-CBN Music operations and creative head Jonathan Manalo. Jarren admitted he never imagined having all these blessings in his life just after he left the PBB house last year.</p><p>“A year ago, I would have never expected to have already released an album by 2025. I thought I’d still be in school, looking for universities, studying, and looking forward to law. I still definitely want to pursue my education and the subjects I love to do, but it’s amazing now that I am able to do what I’m super passionate in doing which is music. I’ll just carry on in doing my number one love,” he shared.</p>
