EXCLUSIVE: Jason Dy shares life lessons from Sarah Geronimo

<p>It’s been ten years since Jason Dy turned three chairs during the Blind Auditions of <em>The Voice Philippines </em>Season 2 and went on to win as Team Sarah’s champion in the finale.</p><p>In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Jason Dy shared his biggest takeaways from being mentored by Sarah Geronimo.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1747637188499EXCLUSIVE Jason Dy shares life lessons from Sarah Geronimo.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>“Hanggang ngayon, naalala ko pa rin every time that I perform, kailangan isapuso mo ‘yung kanta. Sometimes it&#x27;s not just enough that you&#x27;re technically good, but you also have to have the heart when you perform the song. And sobrang thankful ko na siya ‘yung naging coach ko during the competition. And just looking at her and being around her, sobrang inspiring na parang gusto mo rin galingan. Gusto mo rin maging total performer. Pero every time that we see each other, parang it&#x27;s like a reunion. Parang, ‘Hey Coach, good to see you again’ ganon. I would love to see her more if given the chance. Pero ‘yun nga, if the schedule permits na lang talaga. Minsan nagkakasama kami sa mga events. I think the last time I saw her was when we did the Christmas thing last year. Sometimes we message, nag-i-interact kami sa social media,” Jason said.</p><p>Jason also said that if given the chance, he would love to collaborate with the Popstar Royalty, Sarah Geronimo.</p><p>“We haven&#x27;t done anything together na talaga recorded music. Hopefully, I can do a song with her and mag-collab na kami. I&#x27;ve guested at her concerts, or we&#x27;ve been to the same events. Pero we haven&#x27;t written or recorded the song together. It&#x27;s gonna be a celebration of my music, and with the fans, with the DYfenders. Excited ako to put new twists and new arrangements and new sounds dun sa mga kanta ko. So, may mga bago silang maririnig. And excited ako na to perform with the guests. Hindi pala natin na-announce po ‘yung mga guests pero exciting to. Marami silang aabangan,” Jason teased.</p><p>He added that his supporters can also look forward to experiencing something fresh and different from him.</p><p>“Mainly yung genre natin is pop R&amp;B, but we&#x27;re gonna be doing a little bit of rock also, some jazz. We&#x27;re gonna be experimenting with the arrangements of the songs.”</p><p><em>SoliDYfied: A Decade of Jason Dy</em> is set to take place on June 27 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.</p>
