Lovi Poe shares her experience balancing roles as actress and producer

<p>Lovi Poe recently reflected on the challenges and fulfillment of being both an actress and a producer in her latest project, <em>Guilty Pleasure</em>, which she also co-produced.</p><div><br/></div><p>In a recent episode of Netflix Philippines&#x27;<em> Bida/Bida</em>, the actress candidly shared her experience taking on dual roles.</p><div><br/></div><p>&quot;It&#x27;s different. Di ba &#x27;pag you&#x27;re an actor parang &#x27;pag papasok ka sa set, ang iintindihin mo na lang is to give an honest performance and memorize your lines, and come prepared. Pero when you become a producer, ang laki pala talaga ng responsiblity,&quot; she said.</p><div><br/></div><p>Lovi admitted that balancing both roles can be demanding. &quot;When you try to do your scenes and then minsan iniisip ko sana hindi nagsa-suffer &#x27;yung performance ko kasi gusto ko rin mag-excel dito sa side na &#x27;to,&quot; she shared.</p><div><br/></div><p>Despite the challenges, the actress-producer remarked that she finds fulfillment in balancing both. &quot;Isa siya sa pinakamahirap talaga na gawin pero very fulfilling. And sabi ko gusto kong bumuo and become like really hands on. And ayun, ang hirap mag-back out &#x27;pag nasimulan mo na,&quot; she stated.</p><div><br/></div><div><iframe width="670" height="377" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qRm4zKTQA4o" title="Bida/Bida | Episode 4: Cover Girls | Netflix Philippines" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>When asked how she manages the workload, Lovi credited her husband, Montgomery Blencowe, also a film producer, as a key source of support. &quot;I think a great partner — my husband kasi is partner ko rin kasi siya sa pag-produce and he&#x27;s the one who pushed me. Sabi ng husband ko kasi, &#x27;You have all these ideas, pero these ideas mean nothing until you execute them.&#x27; So sabi ko, medyo na-pressure ako dun,&quot; she remarked.</p><div><br/></div><p>After <em>Guilty Pleasure</em>, Lovi is set to star in the psychological horror movie <em>The Sacrifice</em>, which she also produced.</p><div><br/></div><p>The film is produced under the C’est Lovi Productions of Lovi and Montgomery. The film was written by Jerrold Tarog. Prime Cruz is directing the movie.</p><div><br/></div><p>In an interview back in October 2024, Lovi opened up about what inspired her to expand her career into producing films.</p><div><br/></div><p>&quot;What made me do this was actually, I always loved writing my own stories and concepts. I remember it started po with our film,<em> Seasons</em>, with Regal. I came up with that concept and then suddenly, it was just nice to be part of the process and then biglang may script na kami and then nag-cast na and then everything just came together, and then we were taken on by Netflix,&quot; she shared.</p>
