EXCLUSIVE: Kai Montinola talks about friendship and tandem with Jarren Garcia

<p><em>Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 </em>housemates have inspired many “ships”—fan-made pairs that supporters like to root for. One of the most popular is KaiRen, made up of Kai Montinola and Jarren Garcia.</p><p>In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Kai shared how good of a friend Jarren really is.</p><div><br/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1748226299519EXCLUSIVE Kai Montinola talks about friendship and tandem with Jarren Garcia.png" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div><br/></div><p>“Jaren&#x27;s a good friend. He&#x27;s definitely there to alala you. He&#x27;s very nonchalant. You know what I mean? Nonchalant siya (but) when you get to the deepest conversations with Jarren, that&#x27;s where you&#x27;ll get to appreciate Jarren more because of his beliefs, what he thinks is right or wrong,” Kai revealed.</p><p>Kai added that Jarren may be young, but he’s smart and thinks way beyond his age.</p><p>“Jarren is just like a typical teenager, pero matalino ‘yan mag-isip,” she mentioned.</p><p>Since leaving the <em>Pinoy Big Brother</em> house, Kai and Jarren have already performed together on several occasions, including on the Philippines’ longest-running variety show, <em>ASAP</em>. Just last March, the two also sang a duet at the PMPC Star Awards.</p><p>Kai revealed that it’s actually really nice working with Jarren, sharing how he makes things easier with his constant support.</p><p>“Actually, it&#x27;s very easy to work with Jarren. Kasi he&#x27;s already a singer, and as a singer myself, na-appreciate ko ‘yung love niya for the craft. Kasi whenever we practice, kahit hindi kami palagi nagpa-practice — like literally on the day before the show practice, ganun — kinakaya namin kasi he&#x27;s there to help me,” she explained.</p><div><br/></div><div><iframe width="681" height="383" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jiGOHCxOitE" title="PBB Gen 11 Big 4Ever: Balikan ang kilig moments ni Jarren at Kai" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>In return, Kai mentioned that she also supports Jarren in their work, making sure it&#x27;s a team effort between the two of them.</p><p>“I&#x27;m there to help him with the harmonization. Tapos sometimes kung hindi ko alam when ako papasok sa queue, tinutulungan niya ako when to go in, in subtle movements, on stage pa yun ah. So very impressive coming from Jarren and I love the tandem that we do, we make on stage,” Kai expressed.</p><p>Kai also couldn’t help but express how proud she is of Jarren, who launched a new album and held a fan meet earlier this year.</p><p>“The experience is so surreal kasi coming from the house kami sa loob ng bahay, we had expectations but we did not think it would happen this fast. Kaya we&#x27;re all so excited, especially mga ex-PBB housemates, in Jarren. We&#x27;re very proud for him,”</p><p>In the meantime, Kai is also set to headline her first-ever album launch and fan meet titled <em>Kai’s The Limit</em>, happening at the SM North EDSA Skydome on June 28, 2025.</p>
