<p>Veteran actor and visual artist Cocoy Laurel passed away earlier this month, as announced by his family on social media. The late actor rose to fame back in the 1970s and was on-screen partners with the late Philippine Superstar, Nora Aunor. </p><div><br/></div><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fweb.facebook.com%2Fceliadiazlaurel%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0Ucvow8HjfrJwWoWeRTW7YW5graz2txaHx5exNsaTsbx4D6fKATwqaVsi3AvRQJ8Ul&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500" width="500" height="250" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>Cocoy is the son of the late former Vice President Salvador Laurel and theater actress Celia Díaz-Laurel. The late veteran actor is also the uncle of actress Denise Laurel. </p><div><br/></div><p>Here are some of the movies Cocoy has done with Nora which will forever leave a mark in the Philippine entertainment industry.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong><em>Lollipops and Roses</em></strong></div><p>This 1971 film featured both Cocoy and Nora with international actors Davy Jones of Monkees and award-winning actor Don Johnson. It was directed by Artemio Marquez.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong><em>Impossible Dream</em></strong></div><p>Yet another on-screen pairing of Cocoy and Nora, this 1973 film was directed by Cirio Santiago and cemented the chemistry of the two good friends loved by many of their fans.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong><em>Lollipops and Roses</em> at <em>Burong Talangka</em></strong></div><p>Shown in 1975, <em>Lollipops and Roses at Burong Talangka</em> was filmed in the streets of San Francisco in the United States. Cocoy and Nora showed their chemistry once more in this film which also showed the comedic side of the late Superstar.</p><div><br/></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust:100%">These are the three films of the two late veteran actors that showcased how their partnership on screen was a hit among the fans back in the 1970s. </span></div><div><br/></div><p>Apart from being on-screen partners, Cocoy and Nora remained good friends behind the cameras and have also been in multiple television appearances. He even has gifted several paintings of her–– one of which were also spotted during her wake.</p><div><br/></div><p>It was earlier this year when Cocoy made his last known public appearance at the wake of Nora where he even sang “Lollipops and Roses”  to the media present at the wake. He also played the role of Jean Valjean in <em>Les Miserables</em> during the staging of the hit musical in the West End. </p><div><br/></div><p>Cocoy’s legacy will not only be remembered by the fans who has been moved by his work but also his many friends in the entertainment industry. </p>
