Lotlot de Leon mourns the passing of Cocoy Laurel

<p>Lotlot de Leon expressed her grief after learning the passing of veteran actor and visual artist Cocoy Laurel earlier this week. She added how their family was given a portrait of their late mother which was painted by Cocoy himself.</p><p>“When you came to visit Mom for the last time, you brought with you a beautiful painting you had made for her. You told me that you had always promised to create another one for her—and so, you brought it with you to her wake,” she recalled.</p><p>The Kapamilya actress then shared that the painting was given to her by the late actor as a gift for the family. She then expressed how grateful she was for the art that Cocoy made for her mom–– a sign of their long lasting friendship.</p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/showbiz/celebrities/2025/6/16/veteran-actor-cocoy-laurel-passes-away-at-72-1714"><strong>READ: Veteran actor Cocoy Laurel passes away at 72</strong></a></div><div><br/></div><p>“That painting is more than just a piece of art. It’s a symbol of your deep friendship and lasting love for Mom. I accepted it with all my heart, and we will treasure it forever,” she continued.</p><p>Cocoy and Nora were once on screen partners back in the 1970s and made several movies together. Since then, the two have deepened their relationship not only as coworkers but became loyal friends to one another.</p><p>Lotlot sent her condolences to the Laurel family and expressed that their family’s thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult period.  </p>
